Hey Beautiful People!
This year I’m turning 35, and I wanted celebrate in a major way. Beyonce Concert. Check. Barbados for Cropover?! Check. Check. But celebrating 35 revolutions around the sun would not be complete without honoring God, my family, friends, the community which cultivated me into the woman I am today.
Dorothy Height once said, “Without community service we would not have a strong quality of life. It’s important to the person who serves, and the recipient. It’s the way which we ourselves grow and develop.”
In that spirit, I’ve decided to fill 35 purses with feminine hygiene products to donate to The Covenant House DC for my 35th birthday. For homeless women, coping with menstruation is a monthly challenge — and often a nightmare. I’m hoping that I can do my part by giving a small number of women, one less thing to worry about. But the even better news is…you can help! Here’s a list of items to be included in our feminine hygiene kits:
• hand sanitizer
• cleansing wipes
• a package of pads
• a package of tampons
• a pack of panty liners
• a bottle of pain reliever
